Dan Bertoldi
Campus Lead
Heyo! I’m Dan Bertoldi and I joined the Alliance to Save Energy as a Program Associate in February of 2014 after serving as a PowerSave Campus intern for UC San Francisco. I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area. After I graduated with a B.S. in Biology, I decided to further my education and pursue a M.S. in Environmental Management at the University of San Francisco where I will be graduating in May 2014. When it comes to environmental issues, I am most passionate about energy efficiency and water conservation. Making a meaningful impact for the good of society has been my aspiration since I could remember, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity to work for the Alliance. Currently, I am writing my master’s project on commercial building deep energy retrofits, where, through a variety of EE retrofit measures, a large building can reduce energy consumption by 35% or more. Outside of my environmental interests, I enjoy collecting vinyl records, watching live music, traveling the world, and cage diving with great white sharks. Ok, the last one I only did once, but I really enjoyed it. Another passion of mine is taking my truck 4-wheeling, which just happens to be my “green sin”. I drive a 4x4, which doesn’t do so well on gas (you can’t take a Prius off-road) which is why I take public transportation (namely BART) daily. One activity I do that doesn’t require any form of energy is Mountain biking, which is a great way to enjoy nature and get a workout. I am thrilled to be working with UCI, they are such an awesome team!
